'Succession' Planning: It's A Very Real Issue

Posted on February 6, 2015 at 3:50 PM

Institutional investors are not the only ones to be concerned about succession planning in the UK's listed companies.

They have certainly made it clear recently - both privately and publicly - that they want to see evidence of 'planning' - not just regulatory announcements regarding 'succession.' So has the UK corporate governance watchdog, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). Now it seems they are all in good company.

Cyber Security: Turning A Threat Into An Opportunity

Posted on January 18, 2015 at 2:35 PM

Give credit where it's due - there is nothing quite like turning a threat into an opportunity. This is exactly what the UK government appears to be doing, with the Prime Minister's visit to the United States with UK cyber security firms.

Billed widely as 'joint collaboration re cyber attacks' , the trip is, in fact, a bid to win more British business for the sector. A group of 12 UK cyber security f...

It's About The Values, Stupid

Posted on September 17, 2014 at 4:15 AM
There's a bit of slapping into shape going on, more acceptably termed 'toning from the top' when it comes to UK corporate governance. The FRC has today updated the UK corporate governance code.

Following the review by Lord Sharman in the wake of the financial crisis on the assessment and reporting of risk by boa...

Innovation Is The Missing Ingredient On Diversity

Posted on December 4, 2013 at 9:40 AM

I have been lisening to a lot of clever women. Some of what I have absorbed is relevant to the boardroom, all of it is relevant to business.
